Computing

The children at Thorncombe St. Mary's are taught an ambitious and broad Computing curriculum. A progressive curriculum developing skills from EYFS to Year 6 ensures that all children are prepared for a digital world when they leave school.

Chromebooks are used regularly in lessons to support the learning in all areas of the curriculum and the children are digitally literate in using these effectively.

Regular e-safety dedicated lessons are taught and awareness days are held at the school. The Kapow scheme of learning is utilised by teachers to support their computing teaching.

The Acorn Trust is forward-thinking in their approach to computing, technology and hardware. Funding is spent effectively to give children and staff the resources required to teach a thorough and engaging Computing curriculum.
