Volunteering
Volunteers at St. Mary's are warmly welcomed and can help children in a variety of ways. Hearing children read is a particular focus as this makes such a difference to the children’s progress. Others help with After School Club, share interesting topics in assembly or make up adult to children ratios for ventures into the nearby countryside.
If you are interested in supporting school in any of these ways please contact the school office on 01460 30535. All volunteers at Thorncombe St Mary’s undertake a short interview with a member of the senior leadership team, during which our safeguarding procedures are explained. Following this, a DBS check will be carried out prior to volunteering within the school.
